Coppicing Events
The first coppicing event of the season is Saturday 7 November, from 9:30am to 1pm, with Toby Branston leading the group at 8 Acre Coppice, Bovington.
Coppicing is an ancient rural craft that traditionally provided many useful wood products. It also rejuvenates trees and shrubs, helping to maintain a balance of different-aged woodland and creating a greater diversity of habitats for wildlife.
With less woodland management taking place today, biodiversity in our woods can decline. Active management of Eight Acre Coppice helps maintain a healthy woodland ecosystem.
